ANN KRISTOVICH TEAM LEADER
Dr. Ann Kristovich is the co-leader of the Proyecto de Buceo Espeleologico México y América Central, and has been involved in cave exploration in México, Belize and Central America since 1988. She has participated in the exploration and survey of Zacatón and her adjacent cenotes [Caracól, Poza Verde, La Pilita, and Azufrosa], the Nacimiento Santa Clara, upstream sumps of the Sótano de Las Calenturas, the inland Blue Hole-Boiling Hole connection in Belize, and the Nacimiento Rio Choy. Kristovich serves as a push team diver for the project, and also contributes as the team's survey sketch artist and photographer [her images have been published nationally and internationally]. In September 1993, her dive to 554 feet [169 meters] in Zacatón set a new women's depth record, at which time she became one of only six individuals in the world to have dove deeper than 500 feet [152 meters] in a cave. Trained as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Kristovich also serves as the team's doctor. When inclement weather prohibits exploration, Kristovich teaches all levels of diving with Bowden.
